Annette Nayana Nellyet

Annette Nayana Nellyet is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Natural Sciences at the University of Stirling, Ras Al Khaimah, UAE. She brings more than 10 years of experience in higher education, research, curriculum development, and industry-linked practice across artificial intelligence, data science, and machine learning. Her academic work combines applied research, industry-aligned teaching, and AI-enabled pedagogy to strengthen student learning and prepare graduates for emerging technology careers.

She is a Ph.D. Scholar in Computer Science and holds an M.Tech in VLSI and Embedded Systems and a B.E. in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering, both completed with First Class with Distinction. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), UK, and holds the Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate and IBM Data Science Professional Certificate.

At the University of Stirling, Annette teaches Data Science and Natural Language Processing while contributing to curriculum enhancement, research supervision, faculty development, and industry-academia collaboration. Her wider teaching expertise includes artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, generative AI, programming, database systems, computer vision, image processing, statistics, data mining, cloud architecture, and data analytics. She has also undertaken academic teaching, coordination, and curriculum-related responsibilities across the UAE and India.

Her research explores practical applications of AI in environmental analytics, biomedical data analysis, chronic disease risk prediction, banking, and ICT ethics and privacy. She also brings applied technical project experience in signal processing, machine learning, image segmentation, voice recognition, hardware integration, and real-time circuit design. Annette is committed to research-led, outcome-based education that connects academic excellence with industry relevance and equips students with the knowledge and skills required in a rapidly evolving technology landscape.
