Ms. Annie Threse Edwis

Ms. Annie Threse Edwis is an assistant professor in faculty of Natural Science. She is an experienced academic with over 23 years of teaching experience, including 15 years in the UAE, specialising in computing, electronics engineering, and technology-related disciplines. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), UK, and is currently pursuing a PhD at BITS Pilani, Dubai Campus, where her research focuses on advanced antenna technologies for next-generation wireless communication systems. She holds a Master of Engineering in Communication Systems from Anna University, India, and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Madurai Kamaraj University, India.

Since August 2021, Annie has been associated with the University of Stirling, RAK Campus, UAE, where she serves as a Module Coordinator and Co-Teacher for the University's bachelor's programmes. She also leads the Examination Department as part of the Internal Quality Assurance Department (IQAD), contributing to the University's quality assurance and academic standards. Prior to joining the University of Stirling, she was an Assistant Professor at Birla Institute of Technology, Ras Al Khaimah, UAE, and previously held academic positions at engineering institutions in India. Throughout her academic career, she has taught a wide range of undergraduate modules, including discrete mathematics, applied statistics, computer systems, computing fundamentals, computer networks, data communications, embedded systems, Internet of Things (IoT), information technology applications for business, electronics and digital systems, artificial intelligence, machine learning, microwave engineering, RF engineering, and antenna engineering. She has also supervised numerous undergraduate student projects across these disciplines.

Annie has actively contributed to academic research and professional development through scholarly publications, conference presentations, and technical workshops. Her current research interests include advanced antenna design, wireless communication systems, artificial intelligence, machine learning, embedded systems, Internet of Things (IoT), and emerging communication technologies. Her recent work on reconfigurable antennas was presented at an international conference and published by Springer Nature Singapore in 2025. She has also participated in numerous national and international conferences and professional development workshops focusing on communication systems, robotics, and emerging technologies.
