Dr. Dhanya Sudarsan

Dr. Dhanya Sudarsan is an Assistant Professor at the University of Stirling, Ras Al Khaimah Campus, UAE, with more than 12 years of experience in higher education, research, academic administration, and student mentoring. Her professional journey spans institutions in India, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates, where she has consistently contributed to excellence in teaching, research, accreditation, and institutional development. Her work combines research-driven teaching with industry-oriented learning to prepare students for the rapidly evolving technological landscape.

She obtained her Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Image Processing from the Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT), Kochi. She also holds an M.Tech. in Computer Science and a B.Tech. in Information Technology from the Cochin University of Science and Technology. She is an IBM Certified Trainer and holds professional certifications from IBM, Oracle Academy, AWS and NPTEL in the areas of artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer vision, digital image processing, and Python programming.

Dr. Dhanya has served in academic and leadership roles at the University of Stirling, Jaipur National University, Muthoot Institute of Technology and Science, the University of Technology, Bahrain, and Rajagiri School of Engineering and Technology. She has held several administrative positions, including Research Centre Coordinator, Placement Coordinator, NPTEL Coordinator, Alumni Coordinator, Project Coordinator, and Faculty Development Programme Coordinator. She has also contributed extensively to institutional accreditation initiatives, including CAA, NBA, NAAC, ECBE, ARIIA, and ISO quality assurance activities.Her teaching expertise encompasses programming, artificial intelligence and machine learning, computer networks, software engineering, image processing, data analytics, and research methodology.

Her research interests include artificial intelligence, machine learning, image processing, computer vision, handwritten document analysis, and intelligent healthcare applications. She has published more than 22 research articles in SCIE-, ESCI-, and Scopus-indexed journals and conferences, including publications with IEEE, Springer, and ACM. She has also secured research funding, delivered invited talks and workshops, and received a registered copyright for the "Mentoring App."
