Ms. Preetha V K

Ms. Preetha V.K is an experienced academician and computing professional with over 12 years of combined academic and industry experience in the fields of Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Information Technology. Ms. Preetha currently serves as Program Director for the BSc (Hons) Computing Science programme and Assistant Professor at the UAE campus of the University of Stirling, with the university since 2018.

Ms. Preetha is currently pursuing a PhD from ICFAI University, specializing in Blockchain Technology and Decentralized Finance (DeFi), and holds an M.Tech in Computer and Information Sciences from Cochin University of Science & Technology, an MBA in Finance from Pondicherry University, and a B.Tech in Information Technology from Cochin University of Science & Technology. Postgraduate-level courses have also been completed from the University of Stirling, UK, in Machine Learning and Representing & Manipulating Data, strengthening expertise in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Python programming, and Data Analytics.

Research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Blockchain Applications, Decentralized Finance, Data Analytics, Smart Systems, and Emerging Computing Technologies.

Ms. Preetha is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA, UK) and holds several professional certifications including Certified in Cybersecurity (ISC2), a master’s in Data Analytics, IBM Python for Data Science certification, Purple Fabric Engineer certification, and various certifications in Artificial Intelligence and Higher Education teaching practices.

Recognition has been received from the UAE Ministry of Education for outstanding contribution to IT operational support, along with the 2024 Red Hat Academy Program Educator Award and the AWS Educator Badge.
