Lecturer
Ms. Santhuana Sedhumadhavan is an enthusiastic academician and IT educator with experience in teaching, academic mentoring, and technology-enabled learning in the field of Computer Science and Information Technology. Santhuana Sedhumadhavan currently works as a Lecturer at the University of Stirling, UAE, from January 2026 onwards, teaching Programming and User Interface Design in the Java Program for Year 2 students, alongside a continuing role as a Lecturer at the RAK Centre, Ras Al Khaimah, UAE.
A Master of Science in Information Science was completed with a CGPA of 9.21 from the Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Dubai, UAE, along with a Bachelor of Information Systems and Management, with a CGPA of 9.0, from the same institution, building strong academic foundations in Programming, Information Systems, Software Development, Artificial Intelligence, and Emerging Technologies.
Professional certifications obtained include the AWS Educator Badge in Cloud Technologies and Digital Learning Tools, as well as ICDL (International Computer Driving License), along with MOHESR Equivalency in the UAE.
Teaching experience includes serving as an Assessor and Internal Verifier for Advanced Diploma programs (Level 7 & 8), specializing in programming and software development-related units while ensuring quality assessment compliance and academic standards. Association with the RAK Centre dates back to 2024.

Areas of expertise include Programming, Software Development, Object-Oriented Programming, User Interface Design, Artificial Intelligence, IT Project Management, Computing Troubleshooting, Web Technologies, and Java-based application development.
Active contributions to academic development, inclusive education, and professional engagement activities include a presented research work on “Fostering Inclusive Learning: The Impact of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) on Student Engagement” at the Stirling Learning and Teaching Conference as well as at The Asian Conference on Education (ACE2025), Tokyo, Japan.
As part of professional engagement activities, Santhuana Sedhumadhavan has served as a Class Advisor for Advanced Diploma students, mentoring learners in academic planning, project execution, professional development, and student support, and has also worked as a Project Guide for final-year diploma students, supervising Graded Unit projects from design to implementation and presentation stages.
Additionally, membership of the Academic Development Committee involves organizing “Write Right Sessions” focused on academic writing skill development for university freshers, alongside the role of Head of the Culture Club, organizing student engagement initiatives and cultural events that promote collaboration and inclusivity on campus.
Beyond higher education, 5 years were spent at Delhi Private School, Sharjah, including a role as an IT Technician supporting school IT systems and working with students on technology-related activities, including mentoring students for competitions such as the First LEGO League, World Robotics Olympiad, and Special Olympics Unified Robotics competitions. Workshops were also conducted for teachers and students on educational technology tools such as Microsoft Office, Learning Management Systems, Microsoft Teams, Google Workspace, Google Teachable Machine, Tableau, Power BI, and CODAP. During the pandemic, IT support and training were provided for newly onboarded teachers to help them use digital tools for teaching and learning.
