The Hult Rock the Pitch 2026 Startup Competition marked an important milestone for the University of Stirling, RAK Campus, as the campus proudly hosted its first-ever Hult Startup Competition in collaboration with the Hult Prize Foundation.

Organized by the Stirling Student Management Club in partnership with the Academic Development Committee, the competition showcased the entrepreneurial spirit, leadership potential, and collaborative energy of Stirling RAK students. More than just a pitching event, it served as a dynamic platform for students to transform classroom learning into practical business thinking.

Turning Ideas into Real-World Solutions

The event was closely connected with the Business Management Entrepreneurship module, giving students the opportunity to apply core entrepreneurial concepts in a real-world setting. Participants worked on developing ideas around:

  • Opportunity recognitione
  • Value proposition design
  • Problem-solving through innovation
  • Business pitching and presentation skills

This academic integration ensured that students were not only competing, but also learning through direct experience.

Preparing Future Entrepreneurs

In the lead-up to the competition, students took part in a series of workshops and mentoring sessions designed to strengthen their entrepreneurial mindset and refine their ideas.

These sessions were supported by academic staff and more than 20 international mentors from the UAE, India, and the UK, providing students with valuable exposure to global insights, industry perspectives, and practical guidance.

This level of mentorship played a key role in helping participants shape their business concepts with greater confidence, clarity, and purpose.

Competition Day: Innovation on Display

On 25 February 2026, a total of 14 student teams presented their startup ideas, each addressing real-world challenges with creativity, confidence, and ambition.

The event brought together students, faculty, mentors, and university leadership in a shared celebration of innovation and enterprise. Each team demonstrated not only strong business potential but also the ability to think critically, communicate effectively, and collaborate under pressure.

The competition was judged by a distinguished panel of industry leaders, whose expertise and feedback added further value to the student experience.
